You Can’t Share Pain You Don’t Let Yourself Know
In protracted arguments with our partner it can be easy to fixate on trying to make them understand us. But many times we actually don’t yet understand ourself, our own pain, well enough to vulnerably and constructively share it. And that lack of self-love and self-understanding makes it very difficult (and potentially impossible) to help our partner actually hear and understand us, or for us to hear and understand them.
